Nanomaterials for Environmental Remediation

Research Overview

This research cluster focuses on the synthesis of nanomaterials, characterization, and their potential applications in various environmental and biomedical fields. We focus on utilizing nanomaterials for bacterial inactivation, adsorption of organic pollutants, degradation of organic pollutants through photocatalysis, and deactivation and capture of bioaerosols. Our lab endeavors to harness the potential of nanotechnology to address pressing global challenges.

Areas of focus includes:

  • Nanomaterial Synthesis (liquid phase and gas phase)
  • Application of Nanomaterials for the Removal of Emerging Contaminants
  • Application of Nanomaterials for Air Pollutants Control (Bioaerosol, VOC’s and other contaminants)

Collaborators:

  • Pratim Biswas, University of Miami, Florida
